Don't Quit!

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all up hill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow,
Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

MUST WATCH: D’Banj, Diamond, Banky W, Bono, Vanessa Mdee, Waje, Yemi Alade, Victoria Kimani & More in ‘Strong Girl Remix’ (VIDEO)

The mix of 14 male and female stars, in partnership with ONE, have recorded the new version of Strong Girl to show that women’s empowerment is a song that everyone – men, boys, girls and women – must sing together to amplify Strong Girl’s powerful message that poverty is sexist.
The new version of song  is released featuring vocals of: Arielle T(Gabon), Blessing Nwafor(South Africa), Gabriela(Mozambique), Judith Sephuma(South Africa), Selmor Mtukudzi(Zimbabwe), Vanessa Mdee(Tanzania), Victoria Kimani(Kenya), Waje(Nigeria) and Yemi Alade(Nigeria), who are joined by D’Banj(Nigeria), Diamond(Tanzania), Banky W(Nigeria) and U2’s Bono. Actress Omotola(Nigeria) stars in amazing video.
Diamond, who appears on the new version, said: “So many people in Tanzania, in Africa, all over the world are dancing to this Strong Girl remix and they are listening to a song that has a powerful message, that when you lift up girls and women, you lift up everyone. Leaders must show they have heard our call to put girls and women centre stage. The time to act is now, the Global Goals are
the opportunity to do this, and the world is watching.”

Actress Omotola, who supported the original version, the remix and stars in the music video said: “This remix shows Strong Girl is a song to be played on repeat, because the message of lifting up girls and women cannot be played enough and is relevant across the globe. We know that in 18 nations men can legally stop wives working and in 46 there are no laws protecting women from domestic violence. To change this situation it is important to have men and women stand together to call for an end to the violations of women.”

Remixing Strong Girls with female and male artists not only amplifies the song’s powerful message that when you focus on women you help everyone – it shows that men and women must join forces to  ensure that we have  strong girls and women everywhere.
